In the first show back from spring break, anchors Andy McDonnell and Shanon Lea give you highlights from the NIT game against Alabama. They also talk about Cory Higgins’ new scoring record and the legacy he will leave as well as Alec Burk’s potential NBA draft.

In the second segment, you’ll see highlights from women’s basketball’s NIT game vs. USC. Watch videos from spring football practice, including interviews with Coach Embree and players. Get the news about the potential purchasing of Folsom Field’s naming rights to Frontier Airlines. Also, Sports Guy Andrew Tomasini gives you an outlook on CU football based on the spring practices. In the third segment, Jacob Elyachar and Derek Kessinger analyze the NIT game vs. Alabama and the men’s basketball season in general on the Double Team set. In the final segment, SportsMag highlights our Athlete of the Week, track and field’s Jessica Pexler– she ran the fastest 5k time in the world this season last week! Esteban Hernandez

A California native, Esteban is the now in his fifth semester with the CU Independent and is a junior news-editorial major in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Apart from writing and editing, Esteban also enjoys listening to Mexican music, magazine reading, newspaper browsing, movie watching, cattle roping, obsessing over his extensive tie collection, keeping it real, shining his boots and listening to those who are willing to share their story. He is a first generation college student and currently works as the speciality publications intern for a local magazine. Never one to shy away from a challenge, he takes five classes in one day and spends a majority of his time on campus doing whatever it is college students do.
