The University of Colorado has struggled to deal with its reputation as a party school for some time now. It was rated the number one party school in 2011 by Playboy Magazine and number three in 2013.

When people began gathering on CU’s campus for 4/20 in 1999, the school’s visibility only grew. Soon, 10,000 people would gather annually to smoke marijuana on the Norlin Quadrangle. In the spring of 2012, CU had had enough.

In one fell swoop, the school closed campus to non-students – spending $150,000 in the process. Two years later, pot is legal in Colorado. What happens now? The CU Independent presents People of 4/20 to find out.
