Colorado’s nine electoral votes have gone to Hillary Clinton, as called by CNN. Polls closed at 7 p.m., and results quickly poured in.
Clinton dominated Boulder County, winning over 70 percent of the votes. The former secretary of state also edged out Donald Trump in Denver, Jefferson, Broomfield, Arapahoe, Gilpin, Pitkin, Gunnison, Clear Creek, Summit, Larimer and Eagle Counties.
Exit polls show that the demographics that most support Clinton in Colorado are women, Latinos, college graduates and post-graduates.
This win for Clinton echoes President Barack Obama’s 2012 victory over former Gov. Mitt Romney in Colorado, but the margin this time is narrower with Clinton winning 47.8 percent (at 75 percent of results in) versus Obama’s 51.2 percent.
