Welcome to The University of Colorado Boulder, Class of 2026. With a new school year upon us, CU and the Boulder Community will be hosting a variety of events for new and returning students who are interested in meeting more people, indulging in adventures, as well as learning what it’s like to be a Buff. All opportunities listed below are available to CU students. 

 

Tuesday, Aug. 12 – Sunday, Sept. 4

The Rocky Horror Picture Show

The musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show, based on the 1930s horror novel written by Richard O’Brien, is an interactive experience that includes music, lyrics and provocative entertainment for those looking for a fun and flashy night.

 

Tuesday, Aug. 16 – Tuesday, Sept. 6

Trash the Runway

The CU Museum will be hosting a collection of original pieces created by local artists in grades 6-12. All materials from the collection are up-cycled and brought back to life through the lens of the designers. The collection is an interactive experience for all viewers who are interested in redesigning their image of recycled clothing.

Connect at the Rec

CU Recreational Center will be hosting bumper cars on ice, a fun and interactive experience for new and present students who are eager to get out of the heat, meet new people, and explore what the CU facilities offer to students.

Meet the Greeks

Meet the Greeks is a way to learn more about Greek life and the recruitment process within fraternities and sororities. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the individuality of each chapter and ask questions about the recruitment process. Current fraternity and sorority members will be present to give students a proper introduction to the community.

Campus Green Tour

CU Boulder will be hosting a series of small guided tours to show students certain features that make our campus one of the most sustainable campuses nationally. On this tour, students will have the opportunity to walk all around campus and get a glimpse into the facilities that ensure sustainability here at CU Boulder. Registration is required for this event at this link. 

 

Tuesday, Aug. 30

Donuts with the Dean

College of Engineering and Applied Science Dean Keith Molenaar will be hosting a social event for all students to celebrate the beginning of a new semester! Students will enjoy complimentary snacks while socializing with faculty and other fellow students.

Transfer Tuesday Coffee

Start your morning off with some socializing and a free cup of coffee or tea at Bear Creek Apartments at Williams Village Transfer Lounge from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Be sure to have your Transfer Buff t-shirt to get a beverage!

Academic Coaching Orientation

For students interested in learning about Academic Coaching. Come connect with a coach at the Center for Academic Success and Engagement (CASE) W311 and learn some helpful tools to improve academic success this semester.

Pride Picnic

The annual Pride Picnic is here! Join LGBTQ+ students, staff and faculty for a picnic lunch on the Regent Lawn. Students will have the opportunity to engage in activities and games, and expand their knowledge of LGBTQ+ resources on campus and upcoming fall events.

Sorority Recruitment

Sign up and have the opportunity of being a part of the largest female organizations on CU Boulder’s campus! Registration for recruitment can be found on the Fraternity and Sorority Life website.

Welcome Back Tie-Dye BBQ

The Deming Center for Entrepreneurship will be hosting a Barbecue for new and returning students. The Deming Center will provide students with tie-dying supplies, food and beverages for a fun outdoor experience.

Come and connect with fellow graduate students and professionals and converse over food and drinks in the University Memorial Center!

CU Bike Fest

Come and learn more about bikes and sustainable transportation on Farrand Field! This event will include music, food and drinks as well as a used bike sale. Don’t miss out on the bike games and free t-shirts.

Before you scream and chant supporting the Buff Football Team, stop into the Sink and enjoy burgers and community to commence the Football Season!

Extreme Bowling

Exactly how it sounds: come and share a laugh at the University Memorial Center (UMC) for Extreme Bowling, where you will catch fellow students connecting over the fun of bowling!

 

Tuesday, Sept. 6

Painted Pots and Plants

The University Memorial Center (UMC) will be hosting an evening craft event for all students. This event will include painting plant pots as well as succulents. No artistic ability is necessary, come and socialize with peers while getting a little crafty!
