On Saturday, Alesso performed at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison. Alesso is a world-renowned Swedish DJ and producer known for his top hits “Heroes (we could be)” and “Under Control.”
Shortly after his set began, Alesso shocked the crowd by bringing out his friend Martin Garrix as a surprise guest for two songs. Garrix left straight from Red Rocks and flew to Las Vegas to perform just three hours later. Saturday marked the duo’s second time performing at Red Rocks after Alesso played when Martin Garrix headlined in October.
Opening for Alesso was Surf Mesa, from Seattle, whose career started in 2019 with his viral hit “ily (I love you baby),” which has over 1 billion streams on Spotify. Surf Mesa’s mother, father and girlfriend flew in from Washington to see him perform and were heartwarmingly brought onto stage near the end of his set. Also opening for Alesso was Lost Frequencies, a Belgian DJ and producer who rose to fame in 2014 and has since topped UK charts.
