CU concert preview

This week, Red Rocks is buzzing with show announcements and the Fox is gearing up for a multi-genre week of music.

 Red Rocks

Even though the Red Rocks season doesn’t start up for a couple months, dates are being announced, pre-sales are coming up and shows are selling out. Bassnectar sold out in just a few hours last Thursday, and the same thing is likely to happen when other big draw artists like Pretty Lights and Widespread Panic announce their shows in the coming weeks.

The String Cheese Incident announced three nights in July and pre-sale tickets are still available, with regular tickets going on sale Friday. String Cheese on the rocks will sell out, it’s just a matter of when.

Zeds Dead will be co-headlining Red Rocks July 7th with Dillon Francis. Paper Diamond, Haywyre and others have been announced as the openers. The tickets for this stacked EDM show go on sale February 7th at 10 a.m. With a stacked lineup like this, tickets are expected to sell out fast.

 The Fox

The Fox theater has decided that midterms are overrated and stacked next Tuesday to Friday with all types of music.

Tuesday starts off with the borderline misogynistic electronic artist known as Borgore. The Israeli EDM producer and DJ uses multi-drum beat patterns and distinct vocal sections that resemble…well a lot of EDM artists.

The MTV child, pop culture novelty, rapper known as Riff Raff will be doing his thing at The Fox theater next Wednesday.  Riff Raff combines the flow of Pall Wall with beats of Diplo and a wild persona that many argue is just an act.

Friday night is Exmag. They bring some of the grooviest, smoothest, guitar-centeric electronic music around. Exmag has been featured with a number of big artists, such as Gramatik, who he opened for at Red Rocks last May.
