Boulder’s Roots Music Project hosted its monthly Jazz, Soul and Groove jam session on Thursday, Sept. 11. The event started with performances from Roots Music Project artists, followed by an open mic session where anyone in attendance was invited to perform.

Additionally, The Fox Theater hosted a lineup of rising talent for a night of live music the same night. Opening acts included Phoebe Nix, Hard Maybe and University of Colorado Boulder student band The Speeks, whose performance drew in a large student turnout and set a lively tone for the night. Copper Children closed the night with a more laid-back set.
