On Thursday, the Fox Theater hosted local band Sunkissd’s largest performance yet. Sunkissd is a college indie rock band based in Boulder, Colorado. Students James Ritchie (vocals/guitar), Gabe Smith (keyboards), Jack Nakashima (bass) and Auggie Frio (drums) began by performing within the student community at the University of Colorado Boulder. In 2024, they celebrated their first year together, during which the band started by playing in campus dorms and at fraternity parties. Sunkissd has built a following through campus performances and their “Sunkissd on da Street” social media videos. Performing at the Fox Theater marked a pivotal turning point in the band’s career. The Thursday night concert included a mix of original songs, such as their top hit single “Only Myself,” and popular covers like Declan McKenna’s “Brazil.” Opening for Sunkissed were The Speeks and Abernathy Shagnaster, both local college bands.
